Your first step should be to get educated on the homebuying process. This can be accomplished by attending a free homebuyer seminar or by taking advantage of the free homebuyer counseling offered by First Home, Inc.

Establishment of a Home Purchase Plan

FHI's homebuyer counseling program helps you establish a home purchase plan. To start your counseling process fill out a counseling worksheet. In order to process your application, we will need to run a comprehensive tri agency credit report, or provide us with a copy of your most recent credit report when submitting your prescreen worksheet. Evaluating and understanding your credit rating is an essential step in establishing a home purchase plan.

Once we receive a filled out counseling worksheet we will immediately start compiling your information to structure a home purchase plan. A counselor will contact you to either set up a time to meet with you or, if necessary, will start the counseling process with you over the phone. The counseling process entails a comprehensive review of your current financial situation and incorporates your home purchase objectives in establishing a purchase plan. The purchase plan also integrates all of the public homebuyer programs available in your region of interest as well as all of the financing programs made available through private lending institutions.

Execution of Your Home Purchase Plan –
Initalization of the Pre-approval and Search Process

Upon establishing and reviewing your home purchase plan you will be able to establish and execute all of the requisite steps to purchase your home. Your plan will help you determine exactly where you stand in the purchase process. When necessary, FHI's counselors will assist you in working with all your pre-purchase issues and requirements such as budgeting, savings, and working on credit and/or personal debt issues. If your plan and personal situation allows you to endeavor into the purchase process now, First Home, Inc. and members of the California Dream Alliance will assist you in every step of the transaction to close your escrow.
