  2. Complete the form as accurately as possible - the more information you provide, the more comprehensive and relevant a plan our counselors can construct for you.

Important Information about your Homebuyer Counseling Worksheet & Application

1. Please complete the form as accurately as you can. It will help if you have the following information at hand (but please do not send):
  • a month of paycheck stubs
  • bank statements
  • credit card statements
You do not need to put exact dollar amounts, you can round your earnings and saving figures. However, the more accurate and detailed the information our counselors have, the more realistically they can structure a plan for you and ascertain which programs suit you best.

2. Your credit report is one of the most important elements in establishing your home purchase capacity. If you already have an up-to-date tri-agency credit report (less than 90 days), please attach this to your counseling worksheet. If you do not have this, First Home will run a credit report for you and send you the entire document for you to keep. This report will also supply you with your FICO scores. FICO scores have been established to set an industry standardized credit grading system. The cost of running this report is $40.

FHI/CDA counselors will then be able to review and analyze your credit score with you. If necessary, they will also be able to provide you suggestions on how to increase your scores and credit rating.

3. Please make certain to verify that you are authorizing FHI to run your credit report by Factual Data. There is a $40.00 fee charged to run your credit report. We will only run the credit report after we receive the check made out to First Home, Inc. in the amount of $40.00. Alternatively you can pay online now.

4. Our counselors honest and supportive, but you must be prepared to deal with the challenges of taking that step to home ownership. If you are not yet on the right track, our counselors will give you guidance on how you can move forward, but they cannot do it for you! Programs help you but you need to help yourself

5. First Home, Inc. and its partners respect your privacy. Your information will not be shared or sold to third-parties not directly involved in your home buying process. First Home, Inc. may use your contact information to send you program updates, newsletters or other materials relevant at your request. You can opt-out of our mailing by contacting us.
